"... And everything between"

I said yesterday on twitter I was in tango mood. I wasn’t kidding. I couldn’t restrain myself any longer and I bought this amazing cd. I love putumayo’s music. Every time I go to a music store I check their world music section, I can spend hours there. I don’t have as many records as I’d like (I have Paris, french café and jewish odyssey) but I always try to search more music from the artists on my cds, and the result it’s been pretty well so far. They have an excellent taste.
I’d love to work with them. Please, Putumayo, hire me!

Well, now I’m spoiling myself with this cd… and I also found my “perfect” purse. Yay!

Putumayo’s “Tango around the world”

Here’s an album I’ve been digging lately: “A las cinco en el Astoria” by La oreja de van gogh.

I’ve been following this band, God… since I was ten and they had their first international great hit “La playa”. They are from Spain but they have had quite success here in America as well. Her lead singer, Amaia stepped out the band last year, and they hav now a new singer, Leire Martinez, who’s voice is incredibly sweet.

If you are into pop, kinda romantic euro pop rock, you’ll like it. And I don’t think it’s very important to know spanish to enjoy the album.

I’m in love with Inmortal (I have dreams of lipdubing this song in Madrid), Europa VII (a song about ecology and human kind), Flores en la orilla, Palabras para Paula (an almost gospel song, I’d say), Cumplir un año menos (it sort of tells the story of Benjamin Button), Jueves (I almost cry when I hear it for the first time, it brought me memories), and all the songs left. This is one of those albums, you can just mix with another one hundred songs in your ipod. It’s meant to be played complete.
